Patti Austin is the only female singer in the world who has been named “Academic of Vocal”. During her career, she sang R&B, pop, jazz, and blues. She performed with such stars as Michael Jackson, Joe Cocker, and Quincy Jones. She released 19 solo albums, and one of them brought her Grammy for “Best Jazz Female Vocal”. Recently, she pays tribute to her hero – Ella Fitzgerald. “I don’t try to mimic her”, the singer says. “Nobody actually can do that, but I gonna keep singing her songs anyway”. 

Eighteen months ago, Patti Austin presented the same set in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, with Igor Butman and his orchestra. But there’s only similarity between two gigs: songs titles. For there’s no such things as two similar jazz concerts.
