Quite an unusual programme dubbed “Slow Music” is presented by famous musicAeterna orchestra, its conducting founding father Currentzis, and once-child-prodigy-turned-piano-virtuoso Polina Osetinskaya. The setlist is a non-stop-played mixture of slow parts only, cut off from piano concerts that span several epochs, from Baroque to modern times.

This time, new version of the programme is being introduced, with new yet unperformed pieces added.

Known for her intellectual brainy approach, as well as a penchant for modern music and music\theater\literature crossover, Osetinskaya teams up with musicAeterna to turn a pastiche of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Ravel, Barber, and Pärt into a solid, one and half hour long piece of music.

Each Adagio and Andante introduces in the programme is a whole music world, for however different the composers are, there’s certain sense to all the pieces. For instance, sonatas’ slow middle parts from 18^th century onwards symbolize a halt, a meditation, an intimate talk…

Or, rather, it’s a break between acts of the drama called Life, a place and time period for some intimate poetic statement, a space where lonely human voice sings of mortality and eternal love.
