It’s not the first season that the well-known Rachmaninov Trio plays a cycle “Rachmaninov Trio & Friends”. This time the ensemble has a new collaborator - the Bolshoi Theater Wind Quintet. Its name is well-known among music aficionados, since its history begins in the middle of XX century, though unfortunately in 90s there was a hiatus. But the ensemble’s renewed line up has been touring again for five years, since 2013.
“We’ll play some utterly fantastic Mozart’s pieces, the ones written for wind instruments with piano, strings, and voice, - piano player Victor Yampolsky comments on the programme. – Though they are recognized as chef d’oeuvres they are being played rarely. Aldo I’d like to notice the fantastic line-up, for the soloists of the Bolshoi Theater Wind Quintet is a maestro!”
